August is a busy month!

Date: 2010-08-07
August 2010 is proving to be a very busy month this year for the AlfaTest team with three major repair supervision projects as well as all the "normal" surveys that usually come along at this time of year.
AlfaTest is currently supervising major repair projects for the three ACL sister ships; Atlantic Conveyor, Companion and Compass. These three are all docking one after the other in Dunkirk, France. The recommended repair specification was drawn up previously by AlfaTest technicians after UTM and Tank Condition Assessment surveys earlier.

Meanwhile at Remontova dry dock in Gdansk, Poland for major refurbishment is the Wallenius Line PCPT carrier Falstaff.
Alfatest personnel have also prepared the steel specifications for this project and are on sight to supervise the renewal of steel and piping.

The third major project for August is the container vessel German S. She is en route to Guangzhou, China where she will enter dry docks in mid August. AlfaTest will attend with three specialists to complete UTM and Recommended Repair specifications as well as supervise the whole repair project.

Repair supervision is vital in order to ensure quality steel work when repairing. On completion each insert is calculated to the kilo, giving the superintendent the necessary information needed in order to finalize docking costs.
